Kawhi shocked the world when the “Fun Guy” signed with New Balance back in 2018. Since then, the brand has exploded in popularity within the hardcore sneaker world thanks in part to well placed collaborations. The latest model from Kawhi and New Balance, the Kawhi II, gets a makeover courtesy of R.L Stine’s famous child horror series Goosebumps.
Combining the best of New Balance’s performance tech and Kawhi’s play style, the silhouette comes constructed with Kinetic Stitch technology on the upper, a textile material that helps control movement where you need it the most. Coming to us in a spooky Goosebumps-themed colorway, shades of white, grey, black, orange, and slime green dress the sneaker. The bone white mudguard is accented by black plastic fused overlays and grey Kinetic Stitch along the toebox and profile. The two-tone slime green and black tongue is fitted with Kawhi Leonard text split between the right and left pair respectively, written in the style of a Goosebumps cover.
Oozing over the side of the sockliner is the previously mentioned slime green, also present on the Goosebumps branded insole and “2” heel tab. On the black heel overlay, scarecrow and haunted house details make their mark. Rounding out the look is the multi-color midsole and outsole combo that borrows from the upper's spooky palette.
The New Balance Kawhi II Goosebumps is set to release on April 20th through New Balance, Footlocker and Champs. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
