New Balance continues to make waves in the sneaker world with its perfect blend of performance, style, and retro-inspired design. Models like the 2002R and 1906R have made returns with improvements, as both silhouettes now feature the sole unit from another 2010s runner, the 860v2. Following a recent collaboration with long-time partner Aimé Leon Dore, GR colorways are starting to hit shelves — and this “Black Silver Metallic” is one of the cleanest yet.
The upper comes predominantly covered in black and takes on the classic 860v2 construction with mesh and synthetic materials. Overlays along the toe, eyestays, midfoot, and heel contrast with its metallic silver finish. For its branding details, including the iconic “N” logo and New Balance text on the tongue, we see more metallic silver. Underfoot sits a blacked-out midsole paired with a black and grey outsole.
The New Balance 860v2 Black Silver Metallic released Tuesday, May 9, and is currently available to purchase through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
