Even though the 991 is now over 20 years old, its overall design and aesthetic has pretty much remained unchanged since. One of the most iconic sneakers to come from the Boston-based sportswear giant, everyone from Fergie to Steve Jobs has lusted over the silhouette, and now, we're getting another premium colorway in the form of the New Balance 991 "Vachetta Tan."
Working on top of a classic perforated base, smooth leather layers run across the toe box, heel, and sides, which is subtly debossed with New Balance's signature "N" logo. Additional branding adorns the tongue, while 3M reflective accents feature around the back and vamp. Buttery suede elements can be found throughout the upper, and all of this is painted in a beautiful vachetta Tan color scheme. Underfoot, you'll find a highly-sculpted midsole that's infused with ABZORB technology. This is then lined with a durable black rubber outsole, finalizing the truly timeless look and feel.
The New Balance 991 Vachetta Tan is scheduled to release before the end of 2022 in men's sizes with a retail price yet TBA. Expected to be available via New Balance and select retailers online and in-store, you'll find everything that you need to know right here.
