New Balance's Made in UK series has been adored by sneaker enthusiasts for its exceptional quality, classic aesthetic, and captivating colorways. The New Balance 991 has seen numerous iterations since its introduction in 2001, including in the higher-quality build from Flimby, U.K. Following the reveal of a “Pacific” rendition, New Balance has introduced another colorway on the 991 Made in UK, this time coming in “Grape Juice.”
This Made in UK version of the 991, like many before it, exhibits a tasteful blend of pigskin suede, mesh, and leather across its upper. The sneaker sips on a rich, grape-colored suede adorning the mudguard, midfoot, and eyestays. Back on the heel, the overlay boasts a sleek black suede finish. White mesh forms the base layer, providing a clean canvas for the silver-grey leather overlays on the toebox, tongue, and collar to pop. The "N" logo receives a reflective 3M finish, while New Balance 991 branding on the tongue stands out in white embroidery. Underfoot, a two-tone white and grey midsole sits atop a black outsole.
The New Balance 991 Made in UK Grape Juice released in June through select EU retailers while a worldwide release will occur on July 20, 2023 through New Balance. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $260.
