Radical new designs don’t often come from New Balance as the Boston-based footwear brand takes its retro designs and brings them to the modern day with upgrades to tech and appearance that don’t stray too far from its OG DNA. However, we still see the introduction of new models from NB, and the 9060 is one of its latest silhouettes. Taking its inspiration from Y2K runners and infusing that with 99X details, the silhouette has become one of the more popular in NB’s lineup and has now appeared in a springtime-ready “Cherry Blossom.”
Like many previous 9060 releases, the silhouette takes on a suede construction for its overlays while hits of leather appear on the toebox, collar, and heel. Around the front and middle portions of the upper sits a cherry pink shaded suede while a deeper hue of this color takes over the suede along the collar and midfoot. Leather along the toebox also comes in a similar hue to the darker shaded suede with stark whites contrasting along the lace set. Beneath all of these overlays is a very faint pink mesh that appears all throughout thanks to the curvy overlays. Finally, accenting silver lands on the heel tab and portions near the collar while everything is completed by a chunky two-tone cream midsole paired with a reddish-brown rubber outsole.
The New Balance 9060 Cherry Blossom has already seen a release through Hibbett Sports, though a wider launch through New Balance and select retailers will go down on April 1st, 2023. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
