New Balance has been on a roll, reviving classic silhouettes that had previously faded into obscurity. This year alone, the brand has successfully reintroduced models like the New Balance 1000 and New Balance 475, which have found renewed popularity in today’s sneaker market. Adding to this lineup, New Balance is set to bring back the 740, a model that had been dormant for years. Following the recent White Marsh Green colorway, we have a first look at the upcoming Concord Multi edition, slated for an early 2025 release.
The New Balance 740v2 Concord Multi stands out with its vibrant and dynamic color scheme. The upper features a purple mesh base, providing a bold backdrop for this design's multi-color accents. Purple hues dominate the overlays around the toe and vamp, adding depth and dimension to the sneaker. A striking silver panel runs across the midfoot, offering a sleek contrast to the vibrant colors. Volt green accents on the N logo, tongue tag, and lace loops inject a lively energy into the design, while orange pops on the topmost eyestays add a playful touch.
Unlike the original 740, this new v2 borrows its midsole from the New Balance 530, combining orange and blue tones to create a visually appealing contrast with the upper. This midsole design enhances the aesthetic appeal and ensures comfort and support. The outsole features a mix of volt, blue, orange, and black, rounding out the sneaker’s bold and colorful look.
The New Balance 740v2 Concord Multi will release in March 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. As of this writing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
