New Balance’s resurgence in popularity has been a welcome change in a world dominated by Jordan Brand and Nike as the Boston-based footwear has landed some of the best collaborators and played its cards right when it comes to executing designs based on trend. The chunky dad shoe-like design of the 9060 came at a perfect time while the gorpcore trend is translated perfectly with the New Balance 610v1, a 2000s-trail-ready-inspired sneaker that has so far appeared in a handful of monochromatic colorways. Now, the model is taking on a clean “Blue Graphite” makeover.
Covered in patent leather overlays throughout its upper. The base layer takes on a spaced mesh in a dark grey hue while the aforementioned overlays come in a purplish dubbed “blue graphite.” These panels appear somewhat similar to the NB 1906R with its geometrical shapes near the midfoot and toe while the heel overlay features perforations and silver hits. Tonal blue graphite laces match the eyestays and contrast the “N” logo along the midfoot with its greyish-silver finish. Underfoot sits a C-CAP cushioned midsole that appears in blue graphite with a grey hit located near the heel. Rounding out the design is the trail-ready rubber outsole in a two-tone blue graphite and grey finish.
The New Balance 610v1 Blue Graphite is set to release in 2023 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
