Born from the rise of archival and vintage silhouettes reigning supreme, the New Balance 550 has delved into this realm through its color palette since its ALD-assisted revival in 2023, however, this aged aesthetic has seemingly taken a break as of late. Turning back to these vibes, the New Balance 550 has just appeared in “Off White Chile Red.”
Taken over almost entirely by off white leather, accenting hits of chile red take over key branding details while black hits provide even more pop for these vibrant shades to shine. The aforementioned off white leather appears in a smooth finish around the mudguard, quarter panel, and heel while perforated leather lands on the toebox and “550” branded overlay. A peek of red mesh appears on the vamp while tonal off white laces run up a similarly colored tongue towards red New Balance 550 branding. More hits of this Chile Red color can be found on the “N” along the midfoot and via the collar overlay while the collar and heel itself come in a stealthy black finish. Underfoot sits the classic NB550 midsole in white and comes paired with an off white and red rubber outsole.
The New Balance 550 Off White Chile Red is set to release in 2023 through New Balance and select NB retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
