Even if you’re not a fan of New Balance, you can’t help but admire what the Boston company has achieved over the past few years. Taking the old school dad shoe trend head on, the brand has been very busy bringing back some retro silhouettes from the past. While many of these weren’t that well received back in the day, modern sneakerheads are lapping all of them up, including the upcoming New Balance 1906R "White Grey!"
Taken straight from the 2010 archives, this 1906R is a contemporary remake of a classic colorway. Boasting an extremely breathable white mesh construction, smooth leather panels wrap around the rest of the upper in a retro-futuristic fashion. A glossy TPU cage adorns the heel in a grey hue, and this is complemented by the N-LOCK lacing system. Underfoot, the midsole opts for a creamy palette that nods to vintage styles of the past. This is then lined with a black rubber outsole, finalizing the design.
As clean as it gets, the New Balance 1906R White Grey is scheduled to release in 2022 in men’s sizes. Expected to launch at New Balance and select online and physical stockists, these will retail for $150 a pop.
