What came as a shock to many, New Balance began to enter the “hype” space in 2022 through timely collaborations and the revival of silhouettes from years past. One such model that recently rose from the grave, the New Balance 1906R, continues to be pumped out by the Boston-based footwear brand. Now, the model has just appeared in a clean “Grey Navy” rendition.
Covered in a variety of materials, including mesh, suede, nubuck, and leather, the model sticks to grey tones throughout with accenting hits of navy blue seen on the branding details. These land on the “N” logo along the midfoot, a part of the “NLOCK” lacing system, as well as on the top of the tongue and back on the heel with an “NB” logo. Down on the toe, you’ll find a tightly woven mesh material in grey while tan/cream shades take over the suede mudguard and nubuck overlay located nearby. Working across the profile you’ll find a short-haired suede that hosts various nubuck panels while the heel is covered by a geometrically-shaped TPU overlay. Underfoot, a cream midsole gets paired with a two-tone cream and black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 1906R Grey Navy is set to release in 2022 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
