With coveted collaborations from Auralee and COMME des GARÇONS currently on the horizon, the retro model is now officially going gorpcore with the upcoming New Balance 1906R Cordura "Pouch" Pack. While this rugged rendition has previously made appearances on the 2002R in the form of the "Beige Green" and "White Red Navy," this is the first time that its hitting on the 1906R - and here's everything that you need to know.
Unveiled in two tonal color schemes including "Wheat" and "Black," both pairs work on top of engineered mesh bases which are lined with Cordura for industry-leading water and wind resistance. Smooth leather overlays wrap around the upper for a premium look and feel, and around the back you'll find a glossy heel counter which offers the perfect balance of comfort and support. To the sides, the classic "N" logos works in tandem with the laces to form the N-LOCK system, and underfoot, the midsoles are crafted from ABZORB foam for unrivaled cushioning, with the black pair's unit decorated with speckles for a more utilitarian aesthetic. Of course, you can't talk about this collection without mentioning the nylon pouches which are fastened using a single zip. This accessory can be conveniently removed, so if you prefer to wear something a little more seamless, you can achieve this easily.
Expected to release sometime in 2023, the New Balance 1906R Cordura Pouch Pack will be available in men's sizes via New Balance and select retailers with a retail price yet TBA.
