New Balance has been a long-time favorite among sneaker enthusiasts, though recent memory has seen the “hype” world begin to keep their eyes peeled for its releases. For one of its latest revived silhouettes, the New Balance 1906R, we have seen early looks at collaborative works with Aime Leon Dore and a clean “Rain Cloud” colorway from the in-house design team. Launching alongside this greyscale colorway, a “Black Silver” rendition is on the horizon.
Featuring a combination of black mesh on the underlay and black leather on the overlays, the silhouette keeps its 2000s runner DNA with triangular-shaped overlays. Intricate lines in a slightly lighter black shade atop its black leather overlays add a subtle touch of detail to the monochromatic look. The shoe's open-faced mesh below also receives a similar black makeover, giving the shoe a cohesive and streamlined look. Tonal black laces work up the tongue and stop below the NB-branded tongue tag, with the branding details receiving a metallic silver finish. More silver accents can be found on the small “NLOCK” branded “N” logo along the midfoot, back on the heel’s “NB” logo, and the insole’s branding details. The shoe's updated sole unit, borrowed from the New Balance 860v2, features a black midsole and a black rubber outsole, completing the shoe's monochromatic look.
The New Balance 1906R Black Silver will be released on April 3rd, 2023, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
