We all know who lives in the pineapple under the sea, right? Absorbent and yellow and porous is he. SpongeBob Squarepants is probably one of the most recognizable animated figures on the planet, and we’re no strangers to him and the rest of Bikini Bottom coming to life via footwear collaborations. The latest project that brings SpongeBob, Patrick, and the whole gang out of the ocean and into reality is a collab with German brand Neptun.

Before we get into the collection itself, we should preface this with some info on the brand. Neptun is a German-based label that has been around since 2021, and over the last few years, they’ve dropped official collabs with various anime series like Naruto and Pokémon. Pretty much all of the past drops have been via pre-orders, and customers online have stated it took months for products to arrive.

Included in the Neptun x SpongeBob Squarepants collab are five different mules that resemble Birkenstock Bostons. The panel around the forefoot is covered in graphics for specific characters. Of course, the titular character, SpongeBob Squarepants, has his own design, with his big blue eyes featured on the toe. Patrick’s pink appearance also translates well onto the mule, with the starfish joined by other notable characters such as Squidward, DoodleBob, and Plankton.

Alongside the mules, Neptun has crafted an apparel collection with accessories. The highlight for the accessories is the Fluffy Weekender bags, which include bags for SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward. There’s also a full slate of hoodies, beanies, tops, jackets, and more, with each displaying iconic moments from the show.

The Neptun x SpongeBob Squarepants collection will be released on May 22, 2026 at 3:00 PM CET (9:00 AM EDT) through Neptun’s website.
