Professional skater and New Balance Numeric team rider Tom Karangelov is set to elevate his skateboarding brand, Museum, through a new collaborative release with New Balance Numeric. Known for his unique artistic style and skateboarding prowess, Karangelov has chosen the New Balance Numeric 272 as the canvas for this creative partnership. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both Museum and New Balance Numeric, bringing a blend of surrealist art and functional skate design to the forefront.
The Museum x New Balance Numeric 272 features a multi-layered upper inspired by the aesthetics of cardboard and packing materials. The upper is primarily tan textured suede with perforations near the toe, providing breathability and durability. Canvas panels are added along the midfoot for extra support, while the N logo and heel are crafted from a fuzzy material, adding a unique texture contrast. The tongue tag incorporates a packing tape-inspired co-branded logo, emphasizing the cardboard theme.
Inside, the sneaker continues the theme with Museum branding on the insole, featuring a graphic of a cardboard box. Underfoot, a gum vulcanized rubber midsole ensures optimal grip and durability, while the semi-translucent yellowed outsole mimics the appearance of packing tape, tying the entire design together.
The Museum x New Balance Numeric 272 will release on June 21, 2024, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $85.
