Unbeknownst to many, however, the slide was actually introduced in 1994 as part of the sportswear brand’s Fall hiking line. 28 years later and it’s set to revisit the great outdoors with the Mountain Research x Reebok Beatnik "Brush Brown."
Made in collaboration with the Kobayashi Setsumasa-helmed label, this Beatnik pays homage to early 2000s hiking boots. Dropping the usual canvas upper, this pair is crafted from smooth “Brush Brown” leather that’s been given a slightly pre-aged look for a vintage vibe. A flame graphic is stitched across the sides in white, and black straps around the midfoot and heel offer the ultimate lockdown fit. As mentioned before, the Beatnik actually debuted as part of a hiking collection, so you can’t talk about this silhouette without mentioning the toothy pure grey outsole underfoot.
Get comfy this season with the Mountain Research x Reebok Beatnik Brush Brown. Set to release on September 5th, 2022 in men’s sizes, a price has yet TBA.
