Moon Boot is a brand name like Kleenex or Q-Tip. It is a brand name so synonymous with a type of product that it has taken on a generic meaning beyond the brand itself. If you’ve ever called a bulky pair of shoes moon boots, yes, you were referencing space-walking astronauts, but you were also name dropping a snow boot brand that’s been around since 1969, defining what we think of as earth-bound space shoes.

Moon Boot is still going strong, and in its latest collection, the Italian brand is reconnecting with adidas for a four-pack of shoes ready for space, snow, or the streets. The Moon Boot x adidas collection features two colorways each of two silhouettes, starting with a classic Moon Boot Ace Mid snow stomper in space blanket silver and triple black like the void in the solar system. The silhouette features laces that extend down to the bottom of the side panels and wrap around the ankle for a snug, cushioned fit.

The second shoe in the collection picks up where the brands left off last year, reconstructing the adidas Ultraboost 1.0 in the style of a Moon Boot. The Moon Boot x adidas Ultra Boost 1.0 is also done in black and silver. Each pair is constructed with a classic Ultra Boost 1.0 sole and a Moon Boot upper featuring laces that stretch to the side panels, just like the Ace Boot.
