Fanatics is Selling a Mookie Betts Game-Used Air Jordan 3 Retro Jackie Robinson Cleat
Published
First signing with Jordan Brand only two years into his career (2016), MLB superstar Mookie Betts has long enjoyed the ability to take the field in various Jordan retros. This year, he made headlines with the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 Retro Brick by Brick, wearing the potential sneaker of the year on Opening Day. Later, he would take the field on Jackie Robinson Day in a pair of Air Jordan 3 Retro Cleats, now available to purchase on Fanatics.
The pair itself is nearly identical to the Air Jordan 3 True Blue, one of the original four colorways on the model released in 1988. Like that pair, the upper here is made of white leather, accented by cement grey elephant print details on the toe, heel, and eyestays. Pops of red appear on the lower eyelets, Jumpman on the tongue, and the tongue lining. Blue is found on the upper half of the TPU eyelets and the sockliner.

The only direct homage to the legendary Jackie Robinson is found on the heel. Here, the Nike Air tab is done in a semi-translucent cream finish that partially reveals Robinson’s jersey number, 42, in blue. Finishing the cleat is a foam midsole in cream with blue details near the toe and a cleated rubber outsole, caked in clay and dirt from the game Mookie wore them in.
Mookie Betts’ game-used Air Jordan 3 Retro Jackie Robinson Cleat is currently available to purchase through Fanatics for $9,999.
