Making waves in the high fashion world, Salomon has been spotted not only on the feet of those looking for an outdoor adventure but those who stunt down the runways of Paris as well. While the French-based footwear brand is often teaming up with more obscure partners, their collab with MM6 Maison Margiela for the Spring/Summer 2023 marked the first time this duo would come together - though it's not stopping there. Taking on a variety of silhouettes and colorways, the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Fall/Winter 2022 Collection is almost here.
Showcased so far are 5 sneakers, 3 of which come in a low-top laceless form that pulls elements from other Salomon sneakers while adding an avant-garde flair. Colors dressing the aforementioned low-top include cherry red/pink, navy/white, and a tan/multi-color option across the nylon, suede, and foam construction. Protecting the internals of the sneaker is a ripstop nylon overlay that closes around your ankle thanks to the bungee pull string while a suede panel lines the edge of the upper and sole. Salomon branding makes it to the heel of the sole unit, attached to a trail-ready rubber outsole.
For the high-top, two colorways borrow from the low-top model (navy/white and cherry red/pink) while appearing more like an orthodox hiking boot. Ripstop nylon acts as the base for the leather, suede, and fused plastic overlays that cover the upper, the latter of which lines the edges of the sole and upper. More technical details, like the pull-string lacing system and suede panels along the midfoot, help keep the sneaker ready for the outdoors. For branding, as far as we can see, Salomon makes its lone appearance on the back half of the model in its typical font while the midsole and outsole feature a two-tone look and trail-ready traction pattern underfoot.
The MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Fall/Winter 2022 Collection is set to release on November 11th, 2022, through Salomon, Maison Margiela, and select retailers online and in-store. As of this writing, sizing and pricing information is TBA. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest happenings in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
