One of the gaming world's most impactful releases of the last decade-plus has been Minecraft. Shattering sales records, landing on every gaming console (and mobile device), and resurging in popularity, not only are gamers spending hours in their own worlds and having unique experiences but are repping merchandise for the game in real life. We’ve seen this in footwear with a large collection via Puma earlier in 2022, however, it seems the popularizer of the foam-based slip-on, Crocs, is bringing Minecraft to life with an upcoming Classic Clog collab.
Like many collaborations with Crocs, Minecraft adds its flair through an all-over graphic across the foam upper and through included JIbbitz. The standard perforations and construction remain standard to a regular Classic Clog, though Minecraft’s hilly biome is printed atop with grass blocks, mushrooms, tall grass, and flowers featured throughout the design. Jibbitz includes chest blocks, diamond ore, pigs, skeletons, creepers, and a zombie on fire while a creeper face takes over the end of the black “sports mode” strap. Bold “Minecraft” text comes stylized in the game's iconic stone-like design on the back of the strap while the internals and rubber outsole below come in all-black.
The Minecraft x Crocs Classic Clog is set to release on February 16th, 2023 through Crocs online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is is set at $70.
