Michigan’s NCAA Football Championship Inspires This Air Jordan 12 Retro PE

The Michigan Wolverines had a fantastic start to 2024 when they won their first CFP National Championship, defeating the Washington Huskies 34-14. This marked the first time since 1997 that the program had won a national championship. To commemorate this win, Jordan Brand gifted athletes and the Wolverines’ football team faculty a special pair of Air Jordan 12 Retro PEs.
Like other Jordan Brand PEs of late, this Air Jordan 12 features heavy use of textured pebbled leather, as found on recent Jordan 4s and 1s given to select NCAA programs. The material covers the model's base, coming in Michigan’s navy blue hue, while the premium suede mudguard is also rendered in the same shade. Details nodding to Michigan, outside the color palette, are found throughout. This includes the golden tab near the midfoot, reading “2023-’24 Champions” on the left shoe and “Hail to the victors” on the right.
More golden accents pop on the eyelets, while Michigan’s yellow hue makes a home on the heel tab. Here, we see split Jumpman and Michigan logos alongside the standard Jordan text. Inside sit multiple premium details and nods to the school.
First, the inside of the tongue tag displays the Wolverines’ 15-0 record for the 2023-2024 season and the final score of the championship game, while the insole features a wolverine mascot. We also see embroidered “M” monogram logos throughout the quilted sockliner. Finishing the sneaker is the cream midsole and outsole, the latter containing cartoon drawings depicting various Michigan-inspired logos and motifs on the forefoot and heel.
According to English Sole, these Air Jordan 12 Retro Michigan Wolverines PEs are limited to just 240 pairs, making them one of the rarer NCAA PEs.
