Fashion label sneaker crossovers are far from new, but sometimes, a new pair comes along that reminds us why brands are so happy to turn over design duties. To celebrate its 10th year in business, Copenhagen’s mfpen debuted a new collection, including an introductory collab with New Balance on a pair of simple but distinct Made in USA 992.

The mfpen x New Balance 992 Made in USA takes a classic approach, starting with grey suede and mesh on the base, and metallic blue accents on the structural panels and heel tab. The tongue features an open look at the yellow interior foam, with a weathered back half of the midsole adding even more aged yellow energy.

Debuting with the rest of the mfpen “Deadlines” collection, the New Balance 992 collab joins the brand’s in-house footwear line and a collection of sustainably sourced slouchy silhouettes. We’ve only seen a quick preview of the pair, but from what we can see, the only mfpen co-branding is on the insoles.
