You know what’s really hardcore? Putting in a hard day's work. Who better to share this message than Metallica, the metal band that, even decades after debuting, still puts on incredible shows across the globe for fans. In 2024, the Metallica Scholar program, which is part of Metallica’s All Within My Hands non-profit and has raised over $15.3 million for career and technical education programs, dropped a boot collab with Wolverine that helped the cause. Two years later, they’re back together, and this time, the duo is working on the Make Wedge Boots.
Designed by longtime Metallica collaborator Michelle Harvey, the latest collection includes the aforementioned Make Wedge Boots and a graphic T-shirt, with both coming inspired by the lyrics “Full speed or nothing” from Metallica’s song “Lux Æterna.” The boot features a primarily black build, with co-branded Wolverine and Metallica Scholars logos on the tongue as well as a Metallica “M” logo on the heel. On the outsole, the band’s logo is split between the left and right shoes, as well as the phrase “Full Speed or Nothing.” The T-shirt features artwork from Harvey, which contains a wolverine skull adorned with the signature All Within My Hands key. Alongside that, a wolverine head and a human skull both call back to Metallica’s artwork.

“Our work with Wolverine goes back to the humble beginnings of the Metallica Scholars Initiative," said Peter Delgrosso, Executive Director of All Within My Hands. "This latest collaboration is our seventh, and each successful campaign has had the same goal to support our Metallica Scholars Initiative and workforce education. We truly appreciate and value our long-standing partnership with Wolverine."
The Metallica Scholars x Wolverine Make Wedge Boots and the T-shirt are available now via Wolverine’s website for $145. Fifty percent of the proceeds from every item sold directly benefit the Metallica Scholars initiative.
