The mixture of luxury and sportswear has been a common trend in recent years with the likes of LV and Nike or Gucci and adidas showcasing this collision of two worlds. Going back to 2018, PUMA had linked up with the German Luxury brand MCM to release a premium take on the classic Suede silhouette, though it seems that in 2022 we’re getting something even better. As part of a more extensive three-part collection that will be spread out in the coming months, MCM and PUMA take the theme of “Show Love” and bring it to the Slipstream Lo.
Utilizing luxurious details commonplace on MCM pieces, the low-top basketball silhouette gets the iconic brown leather and MCM monogram across the yellow and white leather build. Around the toe, premium suede in the iconic khaki shade wraps around the perforated white leather toe, located near the leather eyestays, tongue, and lace set. Atop the tongue, a metallic MCM logo often found on their handbags replaces typical PUMA branding, surrounded by yellow hits on the wool sockliner. Along the midfoot, the form stripe sits atop a yellow canvas and gets a premium leather makeover with MCM monogram print, running back to the split branding between both brands on the suede heel tab. Underfoot, a white rubber midsole gets paired with a brown rubber outsole.
The MCM x PUMA Slipstream Lo Show Love is slated to release on September 8th, 2022 exclusively through MCM while a worldwide release is set for September 10th through PUMA and select retailers. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $500.
