The most beautiful pairs of Vans ever made are back, but you’ll need to make your way to Miami if you want a shot at securing a pair. After dropping three colorways of pearl-bejewelled Vans Slip-Ons last year, the artist Mattias Gollin is back with the SoCal skate shoe originators for another piece of handmade art presented on Vans canvas, this time taking the Authentic silhouette and transforming it into the Authentiche.
Announced in a cryptic Instagram post from both Gollin and Vans, each black and white checkered canvas Authentic is hand-embellished in Italy with a mix of 8,000 black, white, and gold beads in varying sizes. The canvas-covered upper is the perfect canvas for the jewel art, and the Authentiche sequel to last year’s Slip-Ons will no doubt be just as popular and expensive on the secondary market.
Just like the last Mattias Gollin x Vans collab, this pair will be extremely exclusive with a price tag to match the artistic construction. If you’re lucky enough to get a pair, we highly recommend paying the price, as for wearing them, well, we can’t tell you what to do, but they will definitely break necks.
The Mattias Gollin x Vans Authentiche will be released December 5, 2025 exclusively through an appointment-only in-person release through Mattias Gollin at Art Basel Miami. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $750, and as the site notes, securing an appointment does not guarantee your preferred size.
