Designer Martine Rose continues to redefine boundaries with her innovative creations. Outside of her work through her eponymous label, she previously collaborated with Nike to bring the iconic Nike Shox R4 to the world of high fashion. The Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4 garnered a great deal of attention and will continue in 2023, as Martine Rose's latest runway show revealed two new colors to go with the “Scuba Blue” pair spotted earlier this year.
One of the newly revealed colorways remains consistent with the design language of the blue pair with a gradient pattern transitioning from a radiant orange to volt green. Complementing the scheme are the same black and metallic silver accents. The pack also includes a pair with a sleek black and silver construction. This clean and understated design gets a pop of color through purple accents adorning the lining of the Swoosh and certain sections of the tongue. A green and tan graphic on the midfoot and tongue further elevates this design, making it a standout selection in this pack.
Alongside the sneakers, Martine Rose has designed a clothing capsule that, as Nike put it in a press release,"dissolves the boundaries of men and women’s football styling with gender-free tailored pieces." Included in this are suit jackets, trousers, trench coats, shirts, stockings, gloves, sunglasses, and more. Co-branded elements appear on each of the items with crests resembling football club logos being present.
The three versions of the Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4 and the clothing collection will release July 25 through Martine Rose's website while Nike SNKRS and select retailers online and in-store will release the collection on July 27. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price for the Shox MR4 is set at $200.
