Mark Gonzales' Latest adidas Aloha Super Is Inspired By An Iconic Interview
Since it was introduced back in the Summer of 2018, Mark Gonzales' signature shoe has been somewhat of a skatewear staple. 20 years in the making, the model takes cues from the classic adiStar silhouette and has been remastered for the half pipe. After checking out the "Chair Fight" back in November, we're now taking our very first look at the Mark Gonzales x adidas Aloha Super "One Black Eye." Inspired by a legendary interview from three decades ago, make sure you read on to find out everything that you need to know.
As with every other Aloha Super, this pair is outfitted in buttery suede throughout and is dipped in a pink light orchid color palette. Core black Three Stripe branding shoots across the lateral and medial sidewalls in smooth leather, and The Gonz's iconic Shmoofoil emblem decorates the tongues. Shifting your focus down below, the skate-ready midsole is completely covered in gum rubber for durable traction with every step, and to round it all off, "MG" initials are finely stitched around the heel in a fancy cursive font, like an artist signing off his latest masterpiece.
Already available in select skateshops, the Mark Gonzales x adidas Aloha Super One Black Eye will get a wider release on February 14th, 2023. Retailing for $100, it'll be available at adidas, the CONFIRMED app, and other in-store and online retailers within the coming months.
