When times get tough, it’s important to remember what brings you joy. To make sure we’re all remembering to smile, Marc Jacobs and Converse tapped three artists to put their interpretations of joy onto the classic Chuck 70 silhouette for a new limited edition collaboration: Derrick Adams, David Shrigley, and Hattie Stewart.

Derrick Adams’ pair is a roll of the dice in black and white, with random hits of khaki, covered in a hand-drawn dice all-over print. The tongue features the word JOY in white in all-caps with black dots in the middle like dice, and Marc Jacobs and Converse branding on the insoles. On the inside of the right tongue, a label features Adams’ signature.

Hattie Stewart’s pair is instantly recognizable to fans of the artist, pairing bright colors and bold graphics with her frequently used bubble letter font. Starting with a khaki upper base, Stewart’s graphic print features pink and blue flowers with cute, smiling, winking faces with their tongues sticking out. The flower also acts as the letter “O” in the word JOY, which is printed prominently across the side in pink bubble letters and on the tongue label between a cursive script “J” and “Y.”

Last but not least, the David Shrigley pair is the standout of the bunch, taking a white leather base and covering it with hand-painted orange circles with the phrase “please don’t spoil the joy by making stupid comments” on the lateral side panel, with JOY written on the lateral toe panel. Like the other two pairs, the word JOY is also featured prominently on the front of the tongues, with a numbered edition and artist signature on the backside.

The Marc Jacobs x Converse Joy Collection was released today, September 4, 2025 through select Marc Jacobs retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
