The luxury fashion house Maison Margiela continues its work with Reebok and turns the vintage aesthetic to an 11.

Maison Margiela x Reebok TZ Pump Deadstock Pack

While back in the day you wouldn’t want to be caught wearing a sneaker that had the slightest appearance of aging, nowadays wearing distressed and old sneakers has become a fashion statement. Whether it be a customized look by dipping your all-white kicks in some Café Bustelo or through intentionally aged construction like the upcoming Air Jordan 1 High OG “Lost & Found,” the look has definitely made its presence known in the sneaker world. High fashion caught onto this trend early as we’ve seen the likes of Gucci or Balenciaga sell ultra-expensive sneakers that look like you found them in the back of a garage sale. Continuing this luxury trend is Maison Margiela who is once again teaming up with Reebok, though this time they’ve recreated an almost-perfect rendition of an original pair of the Omni Zone II silhouette that comes with extra aged details.

Across three colorways that come in identical fashion to the original pairs released back in the 90s (White/Black-Neon Yellow; White/Black-Red; and White/Black-Blue) the sneakers feature a distressed and worn in appearance with leather cracking and the midsole appearing to crumble on its own. Rough, worn-in white leather with scuff marks make up the majority of the upper with the tongue receiving extra cracking details alongside distressed, faded laces matching the secondary shade. Co-branded details between Reebok and Maison Margiela come embroidered near the iconic “The Pump” atop the tongue while an included hangtag displays more Pump branding. Underfoot, the midsole appears to be crumbling away through painted-on details with the outsole following this same trend.

The Maison Margiela x Reebok TZ Pump Deadstock Pack is set to release on November 18th, 2022 through Maison Margiela online and in-store with a wider release still up in the air. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at a whopping $1,150.
