Back in 2013, Cole Bennett’s love for hip-hop led to him founding Lyrical Lemonade, an internet blog that would host music videos, cyphers, interviews, and much more, showcasing the Chicago rap scene. The site exploded during the Soundcloud era of rap in the mid-2010s which led to Cole being able to direct videos for some of the most prominent figures in the music industry, expanding his social media presence and growing the brand into much more than just a blog. This has led to merchandising opportunities under the Lyrical Lemonade umbrella, even landing a collaboration with Jordan Brand on clothing and the Aerospace 720. Now in 2022, it seems JB’s parent company wants to utilize Bennett’s brand as the founder took to Instagram to give us a sneaker peak of the upcoming Lyrical Lemonade x Nike Air Force 1 Low.
Keeping things simple on the AF1 silhouette, the sneaker comes dressed primarily in a white tumbled leather with accenting yellow hits and Lyrical Lemonade branding details throughout. As mentioned, the upper takes on tumbled leather across both the overlays and underlays while the Nike Swoosh along the midfoot comes in a lemonade-colored yellow. Nike branding details atop the tongue come in black, while the heel tabs embroidery keeps things in the neutral realm, dressed in white. On the lateral heel, the Lyrical Lemonade logo is stamped atop the leather, also visible on the white insole. Rounding out the sneaker itself is the white-on-white rubber midsole and outsole.
What's a collab without special packaging? Well, The Swoosh and Lyrical Lemonade didn’t skimp out as the custom box features the Chicago-based blog’s branding and color scheme alongside Nike branding details. On the inside of the lid, a rework of Nike’s “Just Do It” slogan appears, reading “Think deep, don’t sink, just do it.”
The Lyrical Lemonade x Nike Air Force 1 Low is slated to release on September 29th, 2022 through Lyrical Lemonade's website, though a release through Nike SNKRS is not out of the question. As of now, sizing and pricing information is TBA.
