Transitioning from European basketball, Luka Doncic’s dominance in the NBA has not only earned him superstar status in the sport but has caused brands globally to try and sponsor the Slovenian - and his performance last night against the New York Knicks proves this further. On fire for the entire four quarters of regulation time, Doncic sent the game to overtime after being down by 9 points with 33 seconds left on the clock and eventually won the game for his Dallas Mavericks 126-121. Putting things in perspective, ESPN Stats & Info reported that in the last 20 seasons when a team was trailing by at least nine points with 35 or fewer seconds their records were 0-13,884.
Not only was this historic for the team but for Luka Doncic himself who broke the franchise record for points in a game (60) and is the first player in NBA history to achieve a 60-20-10 triple-double. Akin to Michael Jordan, “It’s gotta be the shoes” as Doncic was rocking a PE colorway of his Jordan Luka 1s during this legendary night.
Seemingly coming from outer space, this “Black Volt” colorway takes on iridescent accents throughout its engineered mesh and TPU upper. Most of the sneaker comes dressed in black with volt green hits appearing via threads around the upper, Jumpman branding details, and splatter paint on the midsole. The aforementioned iridescent hits can be found on the tongue, pull tab, and down below on the midsole. Speaking of the sole unit, it too comes covered in black sans the organically shaped portions we just mentioned and contains Formula 23 foam from heel to toe. Finishing the design is the black grippy rubber outsole.
While as of now the Jordan Luka 1 Doncic rocked during his historic 60-20-10 triple-double is a PE colorway, hopefully, Jordan Brand gives the public a shot at this pair that was worn during one of the best performances in NBA history.
