When you boast over 100 million followers on Instagram and are part of one of the biggest K-pop groups on the planet, endorsement deals are sure to follow. Just look at Lalisa Manobal, better known by her stage name LISA. The Blackpink member and White Lotus star has tapped into every major industry on the planet, from endorsement deals with Tencent, Samsung, Bose, and Louis Vuitton, to name a few. Now, she’s officially been announced as a member of the Nike family in a new interview posted by The Swoosh.
Photographed wearing a pair of Nike Air Max 95s in the Pink Foam colorway, LISA tells Nike that she’s excited to partner with the brand as she “share[s] Nike’s obsession with excellence, for craft and versatility.” One of her core memories of Nike before she joined the brand was when she saved her allowance to buy a pair of Nike Dunk Highs while she was training under YG Entertainment in the early 2010s.
LISA is most looking forward to bringing the obsession with excellence that she and Nike share, telling The Swoosh, “I want to encourage women everywhere to embrace self-expression and be confident in who they are and through what they wear.”
As to what the “long-term partnership” entails, that’s a mystery. It would not be surprising to see LISA drop her own Nike collab in the near future. However, someone with a rabid and massive following like LISA deserves their own sub-brand, a la Drake’s NOCTA label with Nike, but that’s yet to be confirmed.
