The X-Files is finally being rebooted, with Sinners director Ryan Coogler wrapping up filming on the pilot for Hulu. Coogler shot the 2-plus-hour pilot on 65MM film, and there are even talks of turning it into a feature-length movie. While we’re still awaiting the fate of Coogler’s take on The X-Files, LEGO just revealed a release date for a new set honoring the ‘90s TV series.

X-Files LEGO Set Details

The 1,478-piece set features Agents Mulder and Scully’s iconic basement office buried beneath a microcosm of their paranormal field work, all being watched from above by a hovering UFO. Mulder’s office is recreated with exquisite detail, and fans will notice a ton of Easter Eggs nodding to the series. This includes a LEGO re-creation of the “I Want To Believe” poster, crop circles, Mulder’s favorite sunflower seeds, and more.

Also included in the set are 8 minifigures: Dana Scully, Fox Mulder, The Flukeman, Mr. X, Walter Skinner, Carl Busch, Alex Krycek, and a grey alien. Elite Ball Knowers recognize the name Carl Busch as “The Smoking Man” who stops at nothing to get in the way of Mulder and Scully uncovering the truth, but LEGO doesn’t make a habit of putting little cigarettes in the hands of their minifigures, so that’s why they’re using his very obscure and rarely uttered government name.

The X-Files set actually originated from a fan submission as part of the LEGO Ideas series, which allows anyone to submit ideas for new LEGO sets. If an idea receives enough votes and LEGO is able to get the rights to create the set, they’ll go into production. There’s also an accompanying 221-piece set for Scully’s lab, but it’s not available for purchase. Fans who buy the main X-Files LEGO set between August 1 and August 10 will receive it as a gift for free.
