Sony just wrapped up its latest State of Play event, and in addition to showcasing upcoming games like Final Fantasy VII and Until Dawn 2, it previewed a number of accessories and collectibles. Arguably, the fan favorite is a brand-new collaboration with LEGO that re-creates the original PlayStation console in LEGO form.
LEGO and Sony worked together to create this near-1:1-scale LEGO-fied version of the OG PlayStation console, adding details throughout that nod to PlayStation history. More specifically, tributes to two iconic games, Ape Escape and Gran Turismo, are hidden across the set. For Gran Turismo, there’s a miniature track with scaled-down cars, while the Ape Escape diorama features an island scene with swappable blue or red lights on the monkey’s helmet. Each diorama can be displayed separately from the console or integrated into the build.
The Power and Open buttons are fully functional, though, obviously, you won’t be able to play any PlayStation games using the LEGO set. However, LEGO and Sony have even included a buildable controller that can plug into the LEGO console.
The LEGO x PlayStation set will be released on October 1, 2026 through Sony’s PlayStation Direct website. LEGO Insiders Early Access will go live October 1, while LEGO’s website and LEGO store will sell the set starting October 4. Retail is set at $180.
