Betcha Can’t Cop Just One: Saucony Teams up with Lay’s for China-Exclusive Potato Chip Pack

The humble potato is one of the most delicious and versatile foods in the world. From fries and mash to loaded baked potatoes, hassleback, and au gratin, you simply can’t go wrong with a spud. One of the simplest and most beloved potato variants is the simple chip, and across the ocean in Asia, potato lovers have been known to dress up their chips in every local seasoning blend imaginable.

Tapping into that seafood-style chip obsession for a fun China-exclusive pack of sneakers, Saucony and Lay’s are dropping three potato-packed pairs of shoes. Starting with an all-yellow classic Lay’s Original inspiration for a Trainer 80X with hairy suede paneling and a tear-off tongue design.

The wilder flavors come through in pairs of a Grid Fusion and Cohesion 2K PRM. The Grid Fusion represents Spicy Crayfish flavor in orangish red suede with black accents and a hot-and-spicy speckled midsole. The grey and green Cohesion 2K PRM is a Seaweed potato chip colorway that mixes steel grey suede and mesh with bright green on the side panel logo. We’re a little bummed this collection isn’t a stateside mix with Sour Cream & Onion and Salt & Vinegar colorways, but if you’re a fan of Chinese chip flavors, these are definitely finger-licking good.
