Bulgarian-born designer Kiko Kostadinov has developed a deep relationship with Japanese footwear label Asics, collaborating on multiple releases and heading the brand's SportStyle category. This partnership has led to innovative and stylish sneakers blending Kostadinov's avant-garde design sensibilities with Asics' renowned performance technology. One standout creation from this collaboration is the Gel-Quantum Zientzia, a model that embodies a fusion between fashion and functionality. Following the exclusive release of the Knicks colorway on Kostadinov's website (which releases globally on May 17), a new Black Brown iteration has emerged.
The Kiko Kostadinov x Asics Gel-Quantum Zientzia Black Brown is built on the foundation of the Gel-Quantum Levitrack silhouette. This colorway features a sleek black mesh base, providing breathability and a modern look. Dark grey textured leather overlays enhance the design, strategically placed on the mudguard, vamp, heel, and midfoot panel for added durability and style.
The Asics tiger stripe logo, rendered in a striking golden hue, adds a touch of luxury to the sneaker. Additional gold accents can be found on the sockliner and insole, the latter of which showcases split branding for Asics and Kiko Kostadinov, highlighting the shoe's collaborative nature. Underfoot, the Gel-Quantum Zientzia is equipped with a unique two-part Scutoid Gel Technology sole in black, designed for superior shock absorption and comfort. A gum rubber outsole finishes the look.
The Kiko Kostadinov x Asics Gel-Quantum Zientzia Black Brown will release on May 22, 2024, through Kiko Kostadinov's website. A wider release will follow via Asics, and select retailers online and in-store in the coming weeks. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $290.
