Fashion designer Kiko Kostadinov has once again brought his visionary design approach to Asics, showcasing a blend of avant-garde aesthetics with the brand's renowned performance technology. Kostadinov, who heads Asics' SportStyle division while simultaneously running his own label, has become synonymous with innovative collaborations that push the boundaries of sneaker design. His latest venture under the Asics Novalis collection will be more colorways of the Gel-Teremoa silhouette, a model designed with the help of Kostadinov that debuted last year.
This Spring collection introduces the Gel-Teremoa in two new colorways: Burgundy and White Blue. The Burgundy iteration adheres to the silhouette's initial design philosophy, featuring a predominantly leather construction. A standout element is the large tumbled leather panel in a deep burgundy shade juxtaposed against the black leather of the tongue, toe, collar, and heel. Branded elements, such as the Asics Novalis logo on the tongue and text along the collar, are subtly integrated, with burgundy-tinted laces completing the monochromatic look.
In contast, the White Blue colorway experiments with texture and layering by employing a mesh net overlay across the sneaker's profile. This design choice not only offers a unique visual appeal but also enhances breathability and comfort. White leather components anchor the design, ensuring durability and a clean aesthetic. Both versions of the Gel-Teremoa are equipped with a robust Gel and FF Blast Plus cushioning system, providing unparalleled support and energy return. The outsole, extending up to the toe for added protection, echoes the upper's color scheme, unifying the design.
