Jurassic Park (and its subsequent relaunch, Jurassic World) has become one of the most recognizable film franchises in history, grossing upwards of $6 billion in total. Memorabilia for the franchise lands far and wide, though Reebok wants to immortalize the most recent entry in the series, Jurassic World Dominion, through an upcoming collaborative collection that will take you into the Jurassic universe via various silhouettes inspired by locations and dinosaurs within the movie.
Included in this collection is the Beatnik Slide, Classic Leather Ripple, Club C Revenge, LX 2200, Nano X2 Adventure, The Answer DMX, and Zig Kinetica 2.5 silhouettes, all of which take after locations and dinosaurs that are seen in the feature film. Starting with those inspired by creatures, the Classic Leather Ripple comes inspired by the velociraptor duo Blue and Beta, made of grey premium leather blue ripples along the midfoot adding flair. Logo takeovers add to the dinosaur look, found on the tongue, midfoot window, and heel.
To pay homage to the creature that started the dinosaur revival, Reebok took the LX2200 silhouette and infused it with mosquito DNA. The genetically modified sneaker gets a bio mesh underlay with faux scales covering the black leather overlays. Rub-away details nod to the amber the original mosquito was found in while branding details showcase the DNA making up the creature.
Stepping up a size or two, the Zig Kinetica 2.5 gets a makeover that resembles the four Atrociraptors that chased Owen and Claire through the streets of Malta, Italy. Tumbled leather overlays in shades of brown and white overtake the upper while dot patterns in earth tone shades mimic the skin of the ferocious predators. Red laser-etched details on the heel nod to the lasers used to control the dinosaurs in the film, so be careful not to get marked.
We’ve reached the apex predator of the pack with The Answer DMX which takes on the look of the largest known carnivore to walk the earth, the Giganotosaurus. A faux reptilian print covers the entire basketball-ready silhouette with spike details landing on the heel overlay and collar. As with all pairs in the collection, the Jurassic World logos land on the tongue and insole while the infamous mosquito lurks on the heel.
The final three pairs in the capsule bring you to various locations in the Jurassic universe, with the Beatnik Slides inspired by the excavation site Dr. Grant oversees, getting covered in tan shades with a fossilized dino visible on the strap. If you’re looking for a more sterile environment, the Club C Revenge will be the perfect shoe to complete your Biosyn Genetic Lab uniform as it is covered in stark whites with lab badges, test tubes, and rub-away reptile scales. For the survivalist, the Nano X2 Adventure will keep you safe when scouring the Biosyn Sanctuary with its ballistic nylon upper, reflective details, and carabiner compass to help you stay on track and make it to safety.
The entire Jurassic World x Reebok Collection will be available on August 25th, 2022 through Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in a mix of men’s and unisex sizing, the retail price ranges between $100 and $200.
