With 2022 being one of New Balance’s best years in recent memory, their collaborative efforts continue to impress sneakerheads and those in the fashion industry by working with the likes of Aime Leon Dore, Joe Freshgoods, and luxury brand Auralee. Like the latter of the three, NB is heading to Japan for their latest collaboration, working once again with Junya Watanabe through their Tokyo Design Studio on the Nobium Concept 2 in an all-black colorway.
First introduced last year, this clog/mule slip-on silhouette is ready for outdoor adventures thanks to the Vibram sole unit and leather upper, all of which comes in a single shade of black. Various panels on the upper wrap over each other with 3M hits featured on the toe as well as nylon lockdown straps across the forefoot. Back along the heel, an adjustable/removeable heel strap features Junya Watanabe branding as does the blue insole. Completing the design is the aforementioned Vibram sole unit with yellow branding denoting the use of the brands patent technology.
The Junya Watanabe MAN x New Balance TDS Nobium Concept 2 Black is slated to release on October 1st, 2022 through select stockists of Junya Watanabe MAN exclusively in Japan. A wider release at New Balance and select retailers will follow on November 18th. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at ¥64,900 (approximately $450 USD). Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest happenings in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
