Jayson Tatum and his Boston Celtics are currently in the midst of a playoff run, with Tatum now exclusively rocking his signature silhouette with Jordan Brand, the Jordan Tatum 1, on the court. So far, we’ve seen a slew of PE colorways and two pairs, the “Zoo” and “St. Louis,” hit retail shelves. For the third colorway of JB’s latest performance basketball sneaker, Tatum’s love for “Barbershop” culture inspires its design.
Across the upper, we see a coconut milk-shaded lightweight mesh, providing comfort and breathability. Black TPU overlays near the toe and midfoot ensure durability and support, while black laces match the tongue and are complemented by golden hits via the "JT" logo. The Jumpman logo along the lateral heel is also embroidered in gold, adding a touch of luxury to the overall design. Overt nods to a classic barbershop motif, the red, white, and blue barber pole, are conveyed through the nylon heel tab. Above this, the left heel boasts embroidered stars, while the right features a golden "0," a nod to Tatum's jersey number. The knit on the midfoot is split between red and blue on the left and right sneakers, respectively, adding to the barbershop theme. The design is completed with a foam midsole and a gum rubber outsole, providing excellent traction and cushioning.
The Jordan Tatum 1 Barbershop will be released on May 16th, 2023, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
