Some of the hottest selling sneaker designs aren’t actually sneakers in the traditional sense, technically, they’re classified as a clog. While Crocs reigned dominate for years, Yeezy introduced the world to their version of the clog on steroids with the adidas Yeezy Foam RNNR. Even Crocs decided to switch up their Crocs Classic by allowing Salehe Bembury to redesign the silhouette and create the Pollex Clog. Now, Jordan Brand is joining in on this trend with images surfacing of the all-new Jordan System.23 in a “Sail” colorway.
Unlike the previously mentioned clog silhouettes, Jordan Brand opts for a two-piece construction that consists of a knit slip-on covered in elephant print and an outer foam shell coming in sail. On the knit piece, the elephant print gets covered on the bottom half with a fine mesh and what appears to be some form of cushioning underfoot. Two pull tabs allow for easy on-and-off action, placed on the tongue and heel of the knit piece.
The secondary piece, a sail colored foam, has a textured pattern around the collar that works towards what traditionally would be the vamp with circular cutouts on the forefoot. A smoother texture is utilized on the rest of the silhouette, featuring a Jumpman logo and “23” on the medial midfoot portion. Back on the angled heel, a cutout splits the collar from the sole. Rounding out the look is a sculpted foam midsole and outsole combo come in sail.
The Jordan System.23 Sail is set to release on September 7th, 2022 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
