The Jordan Air Ship holds a distinctive place in sneaker history. Before the world was introduced to the Air Jordan 1, Michael Jordan graced the court in the Air Ship. Even though the silhouette was quickly overshadowed by its successor, the Air Ship retains a special allure for those who appreciate the origins of the Jordan sneakers. Now, as part of the Summer 2024 lineup, Jordan Brand is introducing a women's exclusive variant of the Air Ship – the Jordan Air Ship PE SP Hornets (W).
The speculative mockup of this yet-to-be-revealed Air Ship anticipates a nostalgic nod to the Charlotte Hornets, despite Michael Jordan's departure as the team's owner. The design should feature a sail leather composition for most of the upper, complemented by tonal stitching. In contrast, blue leather eyestays support a set of court purple laces. Court purple branding is anticipated on the Nike Air atop the tongue, and the collar and Swoosh flaunt blue suede. A sail rubber midsole and a court purple rubber outsole rest below to complete the look. While exact color placement and materials are unknown, this new Air Ship's arrangement should align with the classics based on its colorway description and the information we have obtained.
The Jordan Air Ship PE SP Hornets W will release Summer 2024 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store.
