Maestro 1: Jazz Legend John Batiste Teams Up with Nike for a Two-Pack of Dunk Highs

Whether you know him from his legendary Louisiana jazz heritage or his longtime celebrity, including a recent appearance in The Devil Wears Prada 2, John Batiste is a modern-day legend in the music industry. Keeping the flame of jazz alive into the modern era, Batiste’s latest work is a personal project in collaboration with Nike.

Maestro Minded

The Jon Batiste x Nike Dunk High Maestro 1 arrived out of the blue in two colorways in a post on Batiste’s Instagram page, showing a pitch-black patent leather Dunk High and a matte black pair covered in pearls, both with personalized branding touches from the lateral heel to the box and everywhere in between.

On the patent leather pair, the phrase “I love you even if I don’t know you” is added to the lateral heel, with a Batiste silhouette tongue tag with “Glow Shine Fly” written on the backside and a custom cloud painting on the insoles by Batiste’s wife, Suleika Jaouad. The matte black pair features an upper covered in clusters of silver pearls with the same Batiste silhouette tongue tag and cloudy insoles. Both pairs arrive in custom boxes featuring piano keys on the side and a second on-stage silhouette logo that matches the branding on the classy shoe bags.
