Often making headlines for their wild art installations, legal troubles, and more, MSCHF continues to break the internet with new products on a monthly basis. Joining the sneaker game by customizing Nike sneakers, the collective eventually found their own manufacturer to produce their avant-garde designs in 2022. Now their latest model comes in the form of a skate-ready shoe with The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, the MSCHF Gobstomper.
Like the infamous candy, the Gobstomper gets constructed with multiple layers that reveal varying shades as they become worn down, though the initial top layer comes in grey suede. Various panels create depth to the silhouette with eyestays placed along the midfoot overlay, host to a set of white laces. Atop the tongue is a yellow MSCHF branded tongue tag with three exclamation points in red. Making our way inside, the sockliner gets dressed in the same bright yellow as the tongue tag with multicolor insole graphic complimenting nearby. Underfoot, the midsole also gets the multilayered treatment, allowing for the colors below to shine through once worn down. Rounding everything out is the wavy multicolor rubber outsole with MSCHF Sneakers branding placed in the middle of the gobstopper-inspired pattern.
The Jimmy Fallon x MSCHF Gobstomper is slated to release on July 28th, 2022 exclusively through the MSCHF Sneakers app. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $195.
