The hype for the new NBA season is building steadily, and despite plenty of injuries already hamstringing top contenders, annual photo days have brought out classic jerseys like the Iverson-era black Sixers uniforms, the classic black Timberwolves forest graphic, and another black throwback reference in Memphis. For Grizzlies photo day, Ja Morant showed off the new gear in a pair of mismatched Nike Ja 3 By You customs.
Changing vibes on each foot, the mismatched pair features a left shoe with a teal claw-scratch upper pattern on a black background with a purple tongue and Swoosh, and a red sole. The right shoe reverses the colorway, adding red to the upper with blue on the Swoosh and tongue. The colorway pairs perfectly with the new black, teal, and red Grizzlies jerseys, so we expect to see them on the court plenty this season.

We first saw this pair in the NY vs. NY game Nike hosted in August, and at the time, it was reported that the new Ja signature model would be made available on Nike’s By You customization platform, with the mismatched style available as one of the options. In addition to the red and blue pair, we also saw a black and blue mismatched pair on-court at the NY vs. NY event.
We still don’t have any specifics about the Nike Ja 3 arriving on Nike By You, but with Ja bringing out the same mismatched colorway we saw last month, we expect more info to drop soon. If you’re looking for a Grizzlies-themed Ja 3, you won’t have to wait long as the Ja 3 Grizzlies is hitting shelves in November.
