Ja Morant is fed up with the leakers. As new colorways of his Nike Ja 3 signature shoe continue to hit shelves at sneaker stores, early pairs are slipping through the cracks, but if anyone is going to give you a preview of upcoming colorways, Ja Morant wants it to be Ja Morant. Continuing his battle against the leakers that started with the Ja 2 Kool-Aid, Morant took to Instagram this week to show off two new pairs of Ja 3s before they could fall into the wrong hands.
The first pair is a new take on Ja’s signature silhouette, trading the mesh and TPU monogram support upper for a one-piece panel with perforations where the support structure usually sits. The colorway is a shiny, crinkled metallic blue, with off-white pebbled leather on the side panel “JA” hit made with a vertical Swoosh. The midsole keeps the traditional JA monogram pattern from past colorways, but even with one quick photo, this pair definitely stands out from the pack.
On the second self-leaked colorway, the Ja 3 taps Marvel energy for an Incredible Hulk-esque mix of green and white with purple on the sockliner. The base of the upper is done in clean white mesh, with the monogram TPU support structures in slime green zig-zagging in jagged lines up and down the shoe. The vertical side panel Swoosh is done in slime green with a purple outline, and the window in the middle of the midsole features a slime graphic dripping down.
Ja didn’t add any release dates to his Instagram posts, so we’re not sure when or if these pairs will actually hit shelves or what the retail prices will be. However, if Ja is willing to put them out there, expect more info or a debut on the court soon.
