The J. Balvin x Air Jordan 3 Medellín Sunset Arrives September

In the world of sneakers, collaborations between musicians and brands often lead to some of the most unique and sought-after releases. Colombian artist J. Balvin is no stranger to this, having previously partnered with Jordan Brand on a handful of Jordans. The Jordan 3 is the latest addition joining his vibrant Air Jordan 1 and sky-inspired Air Jordan 2. Coined the Air Jordan 3 Medellín Sunset, according to Brandon1an and zSneakerHeadz the sneaker will be one for the ages.

Following the report by the two sneaker insiders, Nice Kicks confirmed J. Balvin’s third collaboration with Jordan Brand will be on the legendary Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Jordan 3. Maintaining a clean appearance on the front half of the sneaker, we see white tumbled leather take over most of the upper. Raw leather edges trim the panels, while the topmost eyestay and collar come with a grey suede finish. Yellow TPU eyelets match this raw leather edge, contrasting the stark white lace set. A light grey finish is applied for its elephant print and features a faint elephant pattern.

Things pop when you move back near the heel as the heel tab, and the back half of the sole comes in a gradient pattern. This transition from deep blue to light yellow takes inspiration from the sunsets of Medellín, Colombia, the hometown of Balvin. For branding, the left sneaker hosts the usual Nike Air logo (with a lightning bolt "I"), while the right contains Balvin's smiley face logo. Rounding out the design is the semi-translucent icy blue rubber outsole.

The J. Balvin x Air Jordan 3 Medellín Sunset will release September 23, 2023, through Nike, J. Balvin's website, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in full-family sizing, the retail price for the AJ 3 is set at $250 (men), $100 (PS), and $80 (TD). Alongside the sneaker, a full apparel collection is also expected.
