Air Jordans past 14 often get disregarded by the larger sneakerhead community. After all, Michael Jordan's biggest accomplishments and his most celebrated performances came during his run with the Chicago Bulls. MJ did lace up some later numbered Jordans during his time with the Washington Wizards, with the Air Jordan 17 being the clear fan favorite from this final era of His Airness lacing up in an NBA uniform.
Retros have been few and far between, but we’re lucky to be in a time when Jordan Brand has renewed focus on the model, including allowing collaborators to add energy to the jazz music-inspired silhouette. The most celebrated of these recent collabs comes from Easy Otabor’s Infinite Archives, and following the hit AJ 17 Low from last year, two more colorways from the brand are launching next year.
Infinite Archives x Air Jordan 17 Retro Low Varsity Red and Varsity Purple
During the rollout of the first Infinite Archives x Air Jordan 17 Retro Low, Easy would go on to post a handful of different sample versions of the sneaker. The first pair shared was a sail colored rendition that took clear inspiration from Mike Bibby’s AJ 17 PE he rocked as a Sacramento King. Another version shared a few months later took that same colorblocking, but applied varsity red accents instead of purple, creating a proto Chicago rendition of the sneaker.
While these were sampled in the past, Kicks Finder is reporting that both pairs are set to hit retail. Both are expected to remain nearly identical to the samples, featuring sail leather upper, black accents on the leather eyestays and the internal bootie, and a chrome finish on the Jordan-branded heel spoiler. Infinite Archives tags are added to the bootie, each done in colors that match the respective accenting hues.

The Infinite Archives x Air Jordan 17 Retro Low Varsity Red and Varsity Purple will be released Spring 2027 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $255.
