Even though their skate shop is located in New Orleans, Humidity is looking to create something ready for both a skate deck and the great outdoors. To achieve this, they’ve partnered up with the iconic Cali-based skate shoe brand Vans on a reworked Half Cab being dubbed the Half Cab Sentry GTX.
For this rendition of the Vans Half Cab that is “built for any situation,” Humidity adds Gore-Tex-laden materials from the ripstop underlay to the suede overlays across the almost all-black sneaker. Around the mudguard, eyestays, quarter panel, and heel sit the aforementioned suede while the base layer comes in ripstop material, accented by large “GORE-TEX” branding back along the heel and collar. More nods to the weather-resistant material can be found near the debossed “Half Cab” text on the lateral side as the infamous Gore-Tex tab lands near the two-tone black and white lace set. Atop the tongue, co-branding between the Half Cab silhouette and Humidity gets written in red. Really adding to the utility of the sneaker, the midsole and outsole get beefed up with the latter of the two featuring a lugged Wafflecup sole.
The Humidity x Vans Skate Half Cab Sentry GTX saw an initial release through Humidity online and in-store while a wider release through Vans and select retailers is set for October 19th, 2022.
