In our current landscape, artists, creatives, and designers are now able to jump-start their careers just through social media, skipping the corporate ladder that was required back in the day. One of these success stories is the Instagram page Hidden NY, ballooning to a large following, dropping limited clothing pieces, and collaborating with the likes of Star Trak. With only one official footwear collaboration under their belt, the creatives at Hidden NY have commissioned bespoke pairs of a collaborative New Balance 992 by customizer LBT Sneakers.
Constructed out of green, brown, and cream nubuck across the upper’s various overlays, white micro-perforated nubuck takes over the base layer. Running from heel to toe is a green mudguard featuring Hidden NY branding on the heel, both through their infamous “H” logo and the brand's name written on the heel tab. Working towards the toebox, you’ll find various brown overlays accenting the midfoot and eyestays cream nubuck. More Hidden branding details are also found on the tongue, splitting “Manhattan, NY” and their motto “Past, Present, Future” between the left and right pairs. Underfoot, a two-tone white and grey midsole is paired with a black rubber outsole.
A release through Hidden NY isn’t off the table as of now for the bespoke Hidden NY x New Balance 992, though as of now, they are just reserved for F&F of the Hidden and the manufacturer LBT Sneakers.
