Vans Helps Haribo Celebrate Its Over 100-Year History

As the number one gummy candy maker in the world, Haribo is a household name at this point with a history that runs all the way back to 1920 when Hans Riegel founded the brand. Since then, fans of the brand have been given childlike happiness, and what better way to celebrate a deep history (and showcase your love for the brand) than with a collection of apparel and footwear? That’s where Vans steps in as the Cali-based skate brand has crafted a wide array of clothing and sneakers that bring us all to the happy world of Haribo.

Focusing primarily on pieces for kids, the Haribo x Vans collection will feature three sneakers (the Classic Slip-On in two colorways and an Old Skool V) that take on themes of Haribo Goldbears. For the two Slip-Ons, we see a monochromatic finish applied with one coming in “Red” and the other taking on a yellow checkerboard pattern as well as various fruit-shaped gummy graphics. Hits of Haribo branding appear on the pull tab while the “Red” pair features a 3D graphic on the toebox of a red Haribo Goldbear. On the Old Skool V, we see a monochromatic yellow finish applied to the upper with the iconic Vans checkerboard pattern coming constructed out of debossed gummy bears. More graphics of gummy bears appear on the straps along the tongue while “The happy world of Haribo!” is seen written on the sidewall of the yellow midsole.

Adults will also get a crack at rocking some Haribo x Vans gear as alongside some heavy graphic-printed hoodies and fleece pullovers we’re getting a Vans x Haribo Sk8-Hi and the Old Skool V that was also crafted for kids. Across the upper of the Sk8-Hi, we see the tagline “Kids and grown-ups love it so, the happy world of Haribo” in ten different languages against a blue canvas backdrop. Throughout the rest of the upper sits black suede with the heel featuring a large multi-colored gummy bear graphic. Finishing the design is the black vulcanized rubber midsole and outsole.

The Haribo x Vans Collection is set to release on April 6th, 2023 through Vans and select global retailers online and in-store. Alongside the collection, the Haribo x Vans Customs will also be available on this same date and feature 4 custom prints for you to create your own colorways. As of now, pricing information for both the kids and adult portions of the collection is TBA.
